Serve Best Xmas Menu Review – WAGYU BEEF?!
It’s less than a month till Christmas, have you decided on your Xmas dinner caterer? Not yet? Do not fret because this review will help you with that! Today, I will be reviewing Serve Best Pte Ltd’s Xmas menu which they have kindly sent over. The menus include a Deluxe Christmas Feast (serves 8 pax) and two of their gift sets! The Deluxe Christmas Feast comes with a 1.5L Coca Cola and four different types of sauces – Brown Sauce, Black Pepper Sauce, Plum Sauce and Orange Mayo Sauce. Deluxe Christmas Feast (Serves 8 pax)
1. Classic Waldorf Salad
In case you didn’t know, a Waldorf Salad is basically a fruit and nut salad. The salad was served on a bed of lettuce and all the ingredients used were fresh and crunchy! I loved how the mayonnaise tied the whole salad together. Who knew that a salad could be this delectable and addictive?
2. Lasagne Bolognaise
I was the most excited for the Lasagne and it certainly did not disappoint. The Lasagne Bolognaise was rich and generous with the meat sauce, bookended with tons of cheese. It’s almost too rich, and just perfect when you’re craving a needed plate of pure comfort under a layer of melted mozzarella. Which is what so many of us need now.
3. Orange Rosemary Chicken Thigh
These Orange Rosemary Chicken Thighs were roasted in a flavourful citrus and herb marinade that turned into an amazing glaze. The thighs were cooked to perfection. They were juicy and tender! This dish is definitely a top pick for me. (My colleague and I devoured 3 chicken thighs each!)
4. Baked Salmon “Florentine”
This delicious dish is made with juicy, tender, baked salmon and topped off with creamy spinach and cheese. The slightly charred cheese on the salmon was a bonus for me. It gave the salmon an extra oomph! Don’t forget to squeeze the lemon for an added tangy flavour.
5. NZ Mussels Provencal
Mussels were plump and juicy, with absolutely no fishy taste! If you didn’t know, herbs de provence is an aromatic mixture of dried Provencal herbs and spices such as thyme, basil, rosemary, tarragon, savory, marjoram, oregano and bay leaf. The ingredients used in the topping added a lot more flavour to the dish. My colleague couldn’t stop eating these mussels because they were THAT addictive!
6. Honey Glazed Brussels Sprouts & Carrots
With a sweet honey glaze covering the sprouts, this dish will convert veggie haters! The combination of sweet carrots, savoury brussels sprouts in a honey glaze, gave the veggies a perfect caramelised texture. Even if your kids detest the thought of eating their greens, they wouldn’t be able to resist this dish!
7. Turkey Bacon & Sausage Roll
Is this worth the calories? YES. Both the Turkey Bacon and Sausages were well-seasoned and flavourful. They had a slightly crispy texture which I loved! This dish will be a popular choice for both adults and children.
8. Brioche Bread Pudding with Caramel Sauce
This dessert is made with sweet, buttery brioche sprinkled with raisins. Surprisingly, even after pairing the pudding with the caramel sauce, it wasn’t overly sweet. If you have a sweet tooth like me, you will definitely love this dessert.
Wagyu Tomahawk Gift Set
Yes, you read that right. Serve Best Catering offers WAGYU TOMAHAWK. It was flavourful, tender with smoky taste, slightly charred and crispy on the outside. The fat was sinful but so juicy and delicious that I couldn’t resist it! The fat melted in my mouth like butter.
Beef Wellington Gift Set
Beef Wellington is an English pie made of fillet steak wrapped in puff pastry, then baked. The pastry was flaky and buttery! Both the beef and pastry were baked up to a gorgeous, golden-brown on the outside and tender, pink perfection on the inside. If you want to add an “atas” touch to your xmas gathering this year, this dish is a must-get!
