Streats Review - Set Meals + Complimentary Crispy Fish Skin With Salted Egg!
Streats serves popular Hong Kong, Macau, Indonesian and Asian street food! Indulge in a wide array of menu from traditional dim sum, noodles, pasta and palatable Asian fanfares. And yes, they are halal-certified!
Recently, they have kindly sent over their Set Menu for 4 Pax for us to review. There were 3 appetisers, 4 main dishes and 4 drinks in the set. Without further ado, I will begin sharing my delightful food experience with Streats!
1. Molten Salted Egg Custard Bun (2pcs)

The Molten Salted Egg Custard Bun had a pillowy soft skin that encased a rich salted egg and sweet custard center. The filling was rather substantial and filled the bun nicely. The salted egg taste was not too overpowering and it complemented the custard flavour really well. Unlike some other buns which can get too oily or rich, it would be no surprise if you could eat more than one as itâs not that jelak!
2. Pan-fried Chicken Dumpling (4pcs)

With a perfectly charred bottom, the exterior was crispy on one-side and slightly chewy on the other. The well marinated chicken filling was juicy, flavourful and with the occasional crunch from a medley of vegetables. Overall, the dumplings had a good skin to filling ratio!
3. Chopped Cucumber with Garlic and Vinegar

This simple yet delectable dish was an amazing appetiser as it helped me stimulate a great appetite! The cucumbers were chopped up nicely in bite-sized slices and they were crunchy. The vinegar sauce with chilli oil enhanced the flavours of the cucumber. The sauce was so good that I paired the chicken dumplings with it too⊠Yummy!
4. Macau Chicken Chop Fried Rice

The chicken chop was well-marinated with a balance between tender and meaty. Not to forget, its flavours definitely pack a punch! The fried rice had a nice texture, and it was aromatic and buttery. The next time you find yourself craving for fried rice, do give this a try!
5. Fried Kway Teow Beef w Sambal Chilli

The Fried Kway Teow was packed with robust flavours and a hint of spiciness. The Kway Teow had a springy texture and itâs mingling with a medley of many other ingredients. The beef was seasoned very nicely, and had a firm yet tender texture! The addition of Sambal Chilli certainly was a bonus to the dish. It added in an extra kick of spiciness which I appreciate.
6. Hong Kong Fried XO Seafood Noodle

This is one of my top picks from this set menu! The XO flavour was not overpowering at all, and instead, it seasoned the noodles really nicely. The noodles were delectable and springy! The dish comes with an ample serving of fresh seafood such as prawns, mussels and squid. Each seafood item was cooked to perfection! I really loved the prawns because they were sweet and juicy!
7. Spicy Nissin Korean Noodle w Fried Chicken â Dry

Am I the only one who likes my noodles chewy instead of soft?? Anyway, if you are like me, you are in for a treat! The Korean Noodle was really nice and chewy! The fried chicken was extremely juicy and tender, and had a crispy golden-brown exterior. To those of you who are worried that this is something like the Fire Noodle Challenge, donât worry itâs not! The spice level was just right for me. (I only eat Xiao La when I order MalaâŠ)
8. Drinks - Iced Barley, Iced Lemon Tea, Iced Peach Tea & Iced Jasmine Green Tea

Last but not least, we have the drinks! My personal favourite was the Iced Peach Tea! Every drink was very refreshing! We had this on a hot day and it really cooled us down. To add on, the drinks did not taste artificial!
Overall rating: 4/5
