The Grumpy Bear Christmas Feast
The Grumpy Bear’s Christmas menu brings together a cozy ambiance and holiday cheer, with each dish carefully crafted to delight your senses. I had the pleasure of sampling four standout dishes from their festive menu, and here’s my take on them.
Salmon with Hollandaise Sauce
The salmon was beautifully cooked, with a delicate, tender texture that practically melted in your mouth. Its rich, buttery flavor paired harmoniously with the creamy hollandaise sauce. The sauce itself was smooth and tangy, striking a perfect balance without overpowering the fish. The freshness of the salmon really shone through, complemented by a light seasoning that allowed its natural flavors to take center stage.
Baked Potatoes
This dish offers a comforting and satisfying combination of flavors. The soft, fluffy interior of the potato contrasts beautifully with the crisp, savory bacon. The potatoes are creamy and slightly earthy taste whereas the crispy bacon adds a smoky, salty crunch that perfectly complements the potato's mildness.
Seafood Bruschetta
For something a little lighter but equally delightful, the Seafood Bruschetta was an excellent choice. The toasted baguette was perfectly crispy, providing a satisfying crunch with every bite. Topped with a medley of fresh seafood, the bruschetta was a wonderful celebration of ocean flavors.
Prawn Bisque
Silky smooth and packed with deep, savory flavors, the bisque was a perfect start to the meal. The prawns were succulent, and the soup had a wonderful depth of flavor—slightly sweet, with hints of brandy and a subtle, warming spice that added complexity without being overwhelming. The texture was luxuriously creamy, yet light enough to leave you craving more.
Iced Oat Milk Cocoa
The oat milk added a smooth, creamy texture, while the cocoa itself was rich and perfectly sweetened, with just the right amount of chocolatey goodness. It’s a cozy, dairy-free option that still lets you indulge in a festive beverage without feeling weighed down.
