Inspired by the local (let’s just assume it’s local, shall we?) dessert, this unique-flavoured cheesecake from Chezcake Bistro contains the key ingredients to the original chendol dessert- gula melaka, coconut cream, red beans, chendol and agar-agar. The combination may sound strange, but I’d imagine the gula melaka to go really well with the cream cheese! If it’s too dense for you, why not pair it with some hot tea to cleanse your palate once in a while.

Malteser Greek Cheesecake

The brains behind the White Rabbit Candy Chiffon Roll, CAKEINSPIRATION also bakes Malteser Greek Cheesecake, and I’m predicting this will be popular especially among kids. The cake sits on a base of the coffee crust and cream of the cake is silky rich, smooth and creamy. It is then topped with fine dark chocolate ganache and melted buttery salted caramel sauce with Malteser chocolate balls as a finishing. What a glorious combination! If that isn’t enough, there is a honeycomb center coated with a layer of milk chocolate as well. As mentioned before, kids would love this a lot because it sounds really sweet but yummy at the same time!

I know, earl grey may not be a unique dessert flavour as it can be easily found in ice cream and other types of cakes, but tea-infused cakes are so delicious it definitely needs a shout-out from me! Tea is a great ingredient to incorporate in dense cakes like cheesecakes as its light flavour and aroma balances out the thick and creamy cream cheese, giving a romantic touch to cheesecakes.
