We can all agree that coffee is our holy grail to stay awake at work and some people even need it every day. Although there are certain benefits to consuming coffee, once you’re addicted, it may lead to certain health issues like heart problems, dehydration, headache and stress.

  1. Dark Chocolate

Studies have shown that the darker the chocolate, the amount of theobromine increases. Theobromine is a similar chemical to caffeine, but a healthier alternative for energy boosting. Theobromine gives a gentle boost of energy that is smooth and long-lasting, and unlike caffeine it won’t make you feel jittery and nervous at all, thus making dark chocolate a great substitute to coffee. However, do consume it moderately as taking in too much dark chocolate may lead to high consumption of fat.

Wheatgrass are great healthy energy boosts that have anti-inflammatory and anti-ageing properties as they contain lots of minerals and vitamins. They can also act as a hunger suppressant which can keep you full and energised for a long period of time. This is because they contain a range of B-vitamins and enzymes that not only helps to break down food but gives energy as well! Wheatgrass can be consumed in many ways as they come in powder, pills or ready-made liquid form that can be found in Chinese medical stores. Many people aren’t a fan of the taste of wheatgrass, so instead of drinking wheatgrass juice, they prefer taking in wheatgrass supplement tablets, which I think is a convenient and nutritious option!

Kombucha can boost your immune system, improve cholesterol levels and blood glucose levels as it contains organic acids, amino acids and vitamins especially vitamin B, which has been proven to be an energy-boosting vitamin.
