Amici Events and Catering Review – Best Fusion of Western - Thai Cuisines to satisfy your cravings this Christmas!

With Christmas right around the corner, have you decided on the spread of dishes you would want to feast on with your guests? Amici Events and Catering has put together a delightful menu this Christmas which infuses both Western and Thai-inspired tastes in their dishes!

Amici Events and Catering has kindly sent us their newly launched Christmas Menu, The Christmas Fanthaistico Party Pack ($198/ Set), which serves 10 pax to try. The menu consisted of the following mouth-watering dishes:

• Amici's Whole Roasted Turkey
  Choice of Flavors (The Tradition / Korean Citrus & Fresh Herbs / Bollywood Tandoori)
• Signature Chunky Crawfish Salad
  Fresh Garden Mesclun, Homemade Mango Dressing, Kaffir Lime Leaf & Kalamansi
• Pad-Thai Style Fusilli
  Crushed Peanut, Crab Meat, Fresh Lime, Chive & Appetizing Pad Thai Sauce
• Thai Green Curry Roasted Potatoes
  With Fresh Thai Basil, Chili & Cilantro
• Maple Glazed Honey Baked Ham
  with Sarsaparilla Cooked Pineapples

Before unpacking the dishes, what caught our attention most was how well-packaged the whole bundle of feast was! The caterer ensured that each dish was well packaged and sealed to provide any leakages during delivery. A carving knife was also included inside the box to provide ease in carving the turkey and ham.

First up, we have Amici’s Whole Roasted Turkey. It came in a tray that was neatly wrapped with aluminium foil. The moment we opened the foil, the delicious roasted aroma filled the room which left us dying to give it a try! The caterer also provided a traditional mushroom gravy and jam that could be paired together with the turkey to balance the flavours and add moisture to enhance the tender texture of the meat. We found this dish exceptional as the turkey meat was not too dry and when coupled with the sauce and ham stuffing, it created a very juicy texture!

The Signature Chunky Crawfish Salad was quite unique to us as it was something new that we have all not gotten the chance to try before! The crawfish salad on top of the macaroni added a balance of creamy, sweetness and saltiness. However, we felt that the macaroni itself could have been seasoned slightly more to enhance the flavours. Nevertheless, the taste of the crawfish salad added a sense of freshness to our palettes!

Next up, we have the Pad-Thai Style Fusilli. We felt that this dish was slightly disappointing due to the lack of intensity in the flavours since after all, there should be an abundance of tastes from the Pad Thai seasonings. However, the use of Fusilli was smart, as the shape of the pasta was able to trap the flavours in each of its swirl.

We also had the Thai Green Curry Roasted Potatoes which was nicely marinated with its spices and herbs that gave a hint of spiciness and saltiness. On the downside, the potatoes could have been roasted slightly longer to provide a crispy crunch texture on the outside. However, all in all, this dish complemented well with all the other dishes provided in the menu, especially the Roasted Turkey!

One of the stars of the spread besides the roasted turkey would be the Maple Glazed Honey Baked Ham. It was juicy and succulent in texture, which led to everyone coming back for seconds! The pineapples also added a tinge of sweetness along with the saltiness of the ham, which enhanced the balance of flavours!
