CAKEINSPIRATION Review - Celebrate National Day with a Themed Cake!

We were very excited to receive design A from CAKEINSPIRATION! However, our cake came with the Mango Tango flavour instead as the lychee flavoured was not ready at the point of delivery.

Upon receiving the cake, we were in awe at the level of intricacy of the piping of the rosette design. The cake was minimally designed but upheld a sophisticated look due to the piped buttercream flowers and meringue icing decor on top. Initially, we were a little hesitant to try the meringue as we thought it would be too sweet. But to our pleasant surprise, the sweetness level was perfect! The light and slightly crispy meringue literally melt in your mouth - a heavenly (albeit sinful) sweet treat that you highly won’t regret indulging in.

The moment we cut into the cake, aroma of the cake filled the room. You could smell the hint of sweetness of the mango together with the vanilla used in the layers of light fluffy sponge cake. Mango cream was also sandwiched in between the layers of sponge cake, adding good flavour to the cake as a whole. The sweetness of the cake was also just right, making this cake perfect for the young and old!

However, we felt that the use of vanilla could have been slightly reduced to bring out the flavour of the mango as the vanilla has slightly overpowered the mango in the cake. We felt perhaps more mango bits could be used to enhance the mango flavour of this cake. 

Nevertheless, the cake was a delightful treat that would be favoured by almost anyone.
