Christmas Cut-Out Sugar Cookies
It’s not Christmas without sugar cookies cut out into various shapes such as gingerbread man, candy cane, Christmas tree, Santa Claus and more. Here’s a super easy recipe on how to make these traditional sugar cookies, so that you can get all ready for Christmas!

(Yields 25 Servings)
Ingredients:
- 1 ¾ Cups All-Purpose Flour
- ½ Tsp Baking Powder
- ¼ Tsp Salt
- ½ Cup Butter
- ¾ Cup White Sugar
- 1 Egg
- 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
Equipments:
- Cookie Cutter
Steps:
- Preheat oven to 200°C. Line baking tray with parchment paper greased with butter
- Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together and mix.
- In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy
- Beat in the egg then add vanilla extract
- Add the sifted ingredients until fully absorbed
- Cover dough and chill in fridge for 2 hours
- After 2 hours, roll out small portions of chilled dough to about 1.5cm thickness on a clean floured surface
- Cut out shapes using cookie cutters
- Bake for 6-8 minutes then let it cool before consuming
Feel free to decorate your cookies to make your cookie more ‘fun’. In fact, it is simple to make your own frosting! The vanilla frosting is the most basic one, and can be made using the ingredients - sugar, butter, vanilla extract, milk and coloured dye of your choice.
