Olivye Café. Gelato Review – The Perfect Ending to Your Party

If there’s one sweet treat that Singaporeans love to eat on this sunny island, that will be ice cream. It is insanely comforting and refreshing to eat the cold creamy goodness in this hot and humid weather, especially after a hearty meal.

We were really excited to receive gelato cups from Olivye Café. Gelato. Yay to frozen sweet treats for desserts after lunch!

Olivye Café. Gelato had kindly sent us 10 different flavours of their gelato cups, a mixture of classic and premium flavours.

The 10 flavours that we received were:
Classic Flavours – Chocolate, White Chocolate, Vanilla & Cookies, Peppermint, Mango, Blueberry and Green Apple
Premium Flavours – Durian, Strawberry Cheesecake and Salted Caramel

The team became fans of the varied flavours, from creamy fruity flavours to refreshing ones.

I’m going to review some of the flavours that really stood out amongst all to me. They were the Vanilla & Cookies, Chocolate and Durian flavours.

Vanilla & Cookies

I thought that the Vanilla & Cookies flavour was going to be just another cookies & cream gelato, but with a fancier name. However, I was terribly wrong about that! Olivye Café’s take of the Vanilla & Cookies gelato came with large generous chunks of chocolate cookies in a rich vanilla ice cream base. I could taste the mixture of creamy vanilla and chocolatey flavour. The large chunks of chocolate cookies added great texture to the gelato, bringing it to the next level.

Chocolate

The Chocolate gelato was another unexpected surprise to me. Don’t be deceived by its milky chocolate colour. The Chocolate gelato had a rather intense chocolate flavour. Rich and velvety, this one is definitely a must try for all chocolate lovers! However, I must say that the gelato does get slightly cloying towards the end. So, I would suggest sharing with a friend. (And you get to taste more of other flavours too! Win-win situation, right? 😊)

Durian

Durian lovers, you’re going to love this! Their Durian gelato was soo heavenly good that I almost thought I was eating a real durian fruit. It was sweet, rich, creamy and aromatic. We were all hit by the powerful aroma of it when we first opened it. The smell stayed in the office for a while. So, heads up for people who are going on a date after the party (or people who dislike durian), try to stay away from their durian gelato!

Overall, the gelato cups were a big hit in the office! Everyone enjoyed the icy treat after lunch in the sunny weather. As each gelato cups are packed individually, these are mess-free and perfect for parties and events. Stickers can also be customised for you to suit your event! I’m sure we can all agree on the fact that gelatos are the best desserts to end any special occasion!
