- Chilled Almond Jelly with Longan
Milky White Sliced Fish Soup
The first dish that we got to try was the Milky White Sliced Fish Soup. The soup came with ingredients such as a generous portion of Fried Fish, Tomato and Cabbage. The caterer was very thoughtful by placing the fried fish in a separate container to ensure that the fish would not turn soggy. The soup was milky and had a good consistency, however we felt that it would be better if there was slightly more seasoning added to the soup to enhance the flavor.

Pineapple Fried Rice with Sultanas
We also got to try the Pineapple Fried Rice with Sultanas. We felt that the rice had a really nice texture, it was light and fluffy and not soggy or too dry. The rice was stir-fried with sultanas, carrots, peas, pineapple bits, spring onion and meat floss. The sultanas definitely did its job in uplifting the dish as it provided natural sweetness to it. The only recommendation we have for this dish would be to have the pineapple taste enhanced, as it was very faint.

Sambal Goreng
Sambal Goreng is a traditional Singaporean/Malaysian vegetarian dish. It is primarily made of fermented soya bean cake (tempe), soya bean cake (tau kwa), long beans and spices. The dish is often left to simmer in a coconut gravy for a period of time, allowing it to soak up the goodness from the gravy. We felt that this dish was very well seasoned and had just the right amount of chilli spice added. It definitely complemented the other dishes well with its intense flavors!

Hong Kong Style Steam Fish
Another dish that we got to try was the Hong Kong Style Steam Fish. We were slightly disappointed with this dish as the fish was slightly dry and overcooked. Perhaps it would have been better if there was a gravy served with it so it would be less dry.

Ginger Scallion Fish
This dish was topped with ginger, tomato, mushroom, chilli and parsley. At first we were afraid that the taste of ginger in this dish would be too strong, however the flavours from the sauce and fish balanced out perfectly and the ginger was not too overpowering. The flesh of the fish was soft, tender, fresh and it managed to absorb all the essence from the ingredients. The sauce had a good consistency, and coated every piece of fish well. Definitely a dish that we recommend!

Coffee Glazed Honey Chicken
This Coffee Glazed Honey Chicken was one of the winning dishes out of the spread. The moment the lid was lifted, the entire room was filled with the aromatic coffee fragrance. The chicken was tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. Each piece of chicken had coffee sauce nicely coated over with sesame seeds sprinkled over. With a perfect balance of sweetness and saltiness, this dish was one that was devoured by our team within minutes! Do give it a try!

Wok Fried Black Pepper Beef with Bell Peppers
This dish was another one that many of us really enjoyed! At first, we were afraid the beef would be tough and overcooked, but we were all proven wrong! The texture of the black pepper beef was tender and succulent. The consistency of the black pepper sauce was also perfect with its slightly thick gravy that coated the beef well. It was not overpowering at all, and instead, tied the dish together very nicely. The capsicum and onions further enhanced the flavour of the dish and gave it a good heat. We highly recommend this dish!

Ayam Lemak Chilli Kering
The Ayam Lemak Chilli Kering of another favourite dish amongst our colleagues. The curry was fragrant with a slightly thick consistency and just the right amount of spiciness. The chicken inside was soft, juicy and tender. The carrots and potato also added an extra sweetness to the dish, giving it the right amount of spiciness and sweetness. This dish is perfect eaten with rice and we highly recommend you give this dish a try!

Buttery Salted Egg Yolk Squid
We also got to try this delicious Buttery Salted Egg Yolk Squid. The salted egg seasoning was very well balanced and had a hint of curry leaf essence which made it more fragrant. However, we felt that batter of the sotong could have been slightly more crispy to give the dish the extra crunch. Nonetheless, it was still a dish worth trying as the sotong were all large and fresh!

Seafood Beancurd Roll in Wolfberry Egg White Sauce
Another dish that we got to try is the Seafood Beancurd Roll in Wolfberry Egg White Sauce. The beancurd roll was fragrant and chewy and the many fresh mini prawns and parsley bits in the roll further enhanced the flavour. However, some of us felt that the roll was slightly on the salty side. Nevertheless, this dish would be perfect when paired with rice!

Sambal Fish Ball
We also got to try these delicious Sambal Fish balls! The fishball had a perfect texture that was just springy enough! There was also a good amount of spice in the sambal chilli that coated the fish balls thoroughly, making it highly addictive! These fish balls would definitely pair well with rice, noodles and other dishes!

Chilled Almond Jelly with Longan
With such hot weather all year round in Singapore, we were all eager to try out the Chilled Almond Jelly with Longan. There was a generous serving of almond jelly and crunchy fresh longans! The almond cordial was creamy and it had just the right amount of sweetness. This dish was a favourite amongst our colleagues and it was quickly devoured! However, one recommendation would be to chill the dessert again before serving as the ice had already fully melted by the time we finished the main course. We highly recommend that you give this refreshing dish a try!
