Paddy Folks Review - Packed Meal

Firstly, let’s talk about the garlic rice. It is full of flavour, buttery and garlicky. If you fear the usual garlic taste (that can be overpowering), fret not as it only has a hint of garlic taste accompanied with the buttery flavour. The garlic rice matches so well with the signature fried chicken - so tender and juicy with a crunchy skin. On the first bite, you will fall in love.

Fried Chicken Tom Yum Rice Box

Of course, the signature fried chicken goes well even with Tom Yum rice. The moment I opened up this rice box, I could already smell the familiar Tom Yum fragrance that we are usually used to. The Tom Yum rice was a tad spicy with a hint of lemongrass and lime to it. Craving for a hint of Thai cuisine, fried chicken and healthy sides like carrot and corn? Say no more and hurry try this out!

Salmon Tom Yum Rice Box

I have talked about the Tom Yum rice earlier but to add on, the rice was nicely cooked with every grain of it separated and was not mushy at all. In this rice box, the salmon was grilled to perfection, moist and tender on the inside. Achieve further enjoyment in this rice box with the cherry tomatoes, garden greens and sweet corn. Get yourself one now, don’t leave it to salmon (someone) else!

Chargrilled Garlic Rice Box

Have you tried chargrilled chicken before? Well, the chargrilled chicken served by Paddy Folks is finely grilled and is juicy and tender. Everything felt so right to me after just one bite! I must say this is one highly addictive rice box because it was one of the best chargrilled chicken that I have ever tried before, I’m in love!

Teriyaki Fragrant Rice Box

Not a fan of flavoured rice? Don’t worry as there is fragrant rice in their rice choices. You probably can’t go wrong with Teriyaki sauces. They just seem to go so well with fragrant rice and grilled chicken! In this rice box sits exactly those two – Teriyaki sauce and grilled chicken. Upon taking the first bite, I knew I was going to have a good meal. I’m not a fan of chicken skin but I must say, the chicken skin in this one has soaked up all the goodness from the sauce and is definitely making me change my mind of disliking chicken skin!

Spicy Tom Yum Rice Box

The chicken in this rice box is prepared using the Sous Vide cooking method. I think it would be almost impossible to achieve this taste through any other cooking method. The spice of the chicken is bearable, it is mildly spicy, and the chicken is so tender then you will yearn for more! If you are someone who enjoys the kick from spices, I recommend you to try this out!

Spicy Garlic Rice Box

If Tom Yum rice is a little too spicy for you then you might want to opt for the Garlic Rice instead. The spicy chicken goes very well with the Garlic Rice, making every mouthful of this rice box so flavourful yet not too spicy. The spicy taste will linger in your mouth for a while but nothing too bad. To sum up this dish, it’s really delicious!

Chicken Breast Salad

Many of us tend to choose thigh meat over breast meat as the latter tends to be too dry especially when overcooked. Not to worry about that here as the breast meat served by Paddy Folk is soft, juicy and has a hint of lemongrass flavour. This makes every bite of the meat so satisfying. Coupled with the salad, it felt so healthy to have.! The salad comes with cherry tomatoes, sweet corn and roasted sesame dressing. Hence, the overall appearance is so appetizing too!

Chicken Breast Brown Rice Box

If you are not craving for salad but still prefer a healthier base carbs, then the Chicken breast brown rice box is definitely made for you! The brown rice has a chewy texture with a nutty flavour. Not enough? It even comes with an onsen egg which taste extra delicious with the brown rice! Fun fact, I dislike egg yolks but the onsen egg looked too delicious to give it a miss, so I mixed the egg yolk with the rice and ate it together, the taste was so good!

Tofu Brown Rice Box

There is also a tofu brown rice box, the tofu is soft, smooth and shiny like silk. Personally, I do feel that the taste of the tofu is a little bland, if you are someone that has a strong taste bud like me then you might not want to opt for this choice. Overall, the tofu is well accompanied with the brown rice, broccoli, beans and pineapple, making it an absolutely healthy meal!

As a whole, I really enjoyed Paddy Folk’s boxes, it really surprised me that packed meal can still taste extraordinary despite the long hours of shoot! To add on, the visual of each dish is so delicious looking which can easily attract attention, making it a value-added to the whole box.
