Perfect Bakes Review- The Best Cakes for All Occasions

I’ve always loved the idea of having a cake at a party. It could be for a birthday party, a housewarming party, a welcome party... you get the drift. Having a cake instantly adds a dash of happiness and sweetness (literally) to a party. With the plethora of cake shops available these days, it can be difficult to decide on the cake shop to get your cakes from.

Truffle Raspberry Cake

This is one rich chocolate cake that is not only pleasing to the eye but is also yummy. The generous use of roasted almonds added good texture to the cake. It also made the cake really aromatic.

The clever use of fresh raspberries really cuts into the richness of this chocolate cake, making this cake really enjoyable to have.  However, I wished the raspberries were a bit sweeter though as some of the raspberries were quite sour.

Some of my colleagues also felt that the sponge layers can be a tad drying. Nonetheless, this was still a pretty satisfactory cake.

Blueberry Hazelnut Cheese

Yum! The cheesecake lover in me really loves me some good o' cheesecake! With glorious cream cheese atop a soft and crumbly crust and filled with lots of fresh blueberries and hazelnuts, this was a cake that was difficult to not like.

The cheesecake was slightly tangy and not too cloying to have. The crust was fragrant and not too salty. A pity though as I could barely taste any hint of hazelnuts in the cake.

Regardless, this was still a rather yummy cake!

Carrot Cake

Out of the 4 cakes we've received from Perfect Bakes, the carrot cake was my favourite! Laden with lots of raisins, carrots and walnuts, this cake almost felt healthy. It was also not too sweet, covered with just the right amount of cream cheese.

I really enjoyed this cake as a whole!

Chocolate Cake

Chocolate lovers, you're going to love this one! This is the Viennese Sacher chocolate cake that is layered with a thin layer of apricot jam and glazed with chocolate ganache.

This was a devilishly good cake that was so moist and fluffy. I felt the use of apricot jam was quite apt as it gave the otherwise very chocolatey cake a refreshing kick. However, some of my colleagues beg to differ and felt that the use of apricot jam has overpowered the taste of chocolate.

In all, we really enjoyed the cakes sent to us by Perfect Bakes. Not only were they all yummy, they also scored pretty well in the aesthetic aspect. These cakes can comfortably serve 12 pax!
