Many of us should find this dish familiar and this is pretty much a comfort food for those who know what this is! Pig Trotters Beehoon is a Hokkien-inspired dish where Beehoon, or vermicelli is being stir-fried with pig trotters, assorted vegetables and fried shallots. This dish was a hit for most of us and went especially well with the curry chicken dish which we'll talk about later! What we felt could have been done better was that, perhaps, less oil to be used when stir frying this dish.

Xiao Bai Chye w Vegetarian Abalone wasn’t a dish to shout about in our opinion but it is still rather agreeable to our palate. In fact, it adds on as a crunchy and refreshing mix to the mini buffet amidst all the meaty selections. The vegetarian abalone tastes like the real deal and our vegetarian colleague really enjoyed it in accompaniment of the vegetables albeit it being on the slightly saltier side.

All of us LOVED the Curry Chicken! It was thick but not too cloying, filled with aroma from the spices used and not too spicy! Savory Kitchen was also generous with the chicken and potatoes. The Curry was loaded with goodness. Thumbs up from us all!

This dish fell short of our high expectations. We felt the Buttered Curry Leaf Fish dish was a tad over-fried and tasted a bit bland. This dish would probably go well with your favourite sauces like chili, mayonnaise and the like though. Had the dish been more flavourful and more infused with the taste of curry leaves and butter, it would have scored a higher rating from us. Nevertheless, this dish arrived at our place warm and still maintained some crispiness which was quite noteworthy for a mini buffet.

We're sure many of us are not unfamiliar with this dish and in fact, this is one classic dish that many of us would order at the "Tze Char" stall or for our buffet catering spread. We felt that these Batter Oat Prawns w/ Curry Leaves were a joy to have for our team lunch! The prawns were fresh and juicy, covered with the sweet & savoury oats. For the lazy ones (like us!), you can even enjoy the prawns with its shells on as they’re all fried till crispy that allows you to bite through easily.

The Sweet & Sour Pork were quite decent. The meat was tender and didn’t felt too fatty. The vegetables were a nice touch to this otherwise meaty dish as well. We felt the “sweet & sour” seasoning could have been stronger to be more “shiok”!

The mini buffet also featured one of Singaporeans' timeless favourite dish - Fried Ngoh Hiang, which we enjoyed with delight. This was a tasty dish to have and all of us liked it!

One of the highlights of the mini buffet was the Honeydew w/ Sago. Filled with lots of chopped honeydew and sago in a sea of light coconut milk, this was one great way to conclude our mini buffet on a refreshing note. The Honeydew w/ Sago dessert was also not too sweet and many of us went for our second and even third serving!

Pastries? Yes please! We are all fans of pastries and desserts here! Both the brownies and eclairs were very delightful to have and we gobbled them down in no time. The fudge brownies were very chocolate-y and the eclairs were light to the palate and not too sweet!

Overall, we would rate the Mini Buffet Xmas Menu B from Savory Kitchen a 4/5!
