Makan Mate

Caterer came a little earlier than scheduled, but small issue. Food quality was excellent. Set up was nicely done and we had a great lunch event overall.

The Kampong Fried Rice Istimewa, slightly spicy and taste good.

The Hokkien Seafood Noodles comes with fresh lime placed separately, but could be better if sambal chilli is provided.

Buffet setup (decoration and presentation) was below my expectation and can be improved.

Lime Juice with Pure Honey was slightly bitter (for unknown reason).

The food was good and not salty and the dessert was great.

Food was delivered on time. Did a check and realise the serving ladles were not given. Delivery guy tried to help but main office cant do anything about it. Apologies accepted though i felt they could have done more to rectify it.
Food wise is average. Sambal squid was hard and in such big pcs..a lot of my guests had difficulty in biting it. Thus it was the most unpopular food item, almost half left over. For the portion wise, sufficient for 17 adults and 6 kids though i ordered for 15pax.

Food is nice but a bit cold.

The staples were delicious and generous. Not many caterers that I checked provided Hokkien seafood noodles as a staple so it was a nice surprise. Curry chicken and the beancurd with enoki was nice as well.

This is the first time I have ordered from Makan Mate. I was very impressed with the buffet table display. It was very nicely done with a bouquet of flowers and name of very dish was displayed. The cutlery was also laid out very nicely. Food quality was good. Especially to mention is the Chicken curry and Hokkien noodles. The portion provided especially the Hokkien noodles and Kampong fried rice was very generous.
Only set back was the delivery of the food was about half an hour later than my planned commencement time although they have earlier set up table earlier.

Generally the food are okay. Service is good and friendly. (The driver who came to set up)

Would recommend Makan Mate to others for future catering needs.
