Xiao Lin Kitchen

The food were tasteless as commented by all our guests.Rice/BurBur ChaCha /Fruit were tasteless and watery/dilute.Broccoli was very salty.
Curry very very cold even with the burner on.
Delivery was late by 50mins due to driver lost their way.
Customer Service very bad as no respond from 1115 to 1205hrs and at 1900hrs due to the collection yet to take place even though we got feedback from the drivee in late collection as our side need to change shift to hand over duty.
Our organising committees felt very upset with the service and food ordered due to all our guests feedback was very bad ,not nice plus very expensive.
Can we request for the waiver of Trasport S$40 to be refund due to the above reasons or any compensations towards this negative feedback from all our guests. As we felt bad for organising with such negative feedback.
Request to improve all areas as highlighted.

Thank u for the feedback albeit negatives ones. The event date was Christmas eve where understandably, caterers are swamped with orders.
With regard to your comment that we were late by 50 mins, the driver noted that the address you had provided us was wrong / errorneous and did not state Paya Lebar Airbase and that was the cause of the losing of way. The exact address was also not provided, except it stated that it was a Supply Base. The driver ended up circling the area for many minutes . Furthermore as it was a RSAF airbase, security was tight and our driver was left waiting at the main gate for 20mins before you sent someone to make clearance for us to enter the airbase. During the setup, we clearly explained to your staff that as we had many orders for the day, collection would not be possible after 3 hours. Your male colleague was kind and agreed that if collection is going to be late, we should come back after 8pm due to the changing of shift. We abided his instructions. Your male colleague was very kind and even provided us with the phone number of the Duty Officer to contact after 8 pm. As it is a regimental airbase, we abided by his instructions and came back after 8pm. As such we are a little surprised that you commented we were late for collection, when we abided your instructions. (Kindly verify with your colleague). With regard to the food, we regret that you did not like our food. Different folks different strokes:). Some may like our food whilst others may not. But we will certainly try our very best to satisfy our customers. Incidentally, during the collection, we observed that all the food was fully eaten:).
As for the waiver of $40, we regret that we are unable to accede to your request. With thanks and regrets

Sambal Eggplant taste nice with the fried rice.

Food arrived on time.

but soon after guests started eating, we realized Fried Rice and Broccoli were bad.

so we quickly called Xiao Lin Kitchen, the person in charge was very very nice. he acknowledged the issue and didn't avoid taking responsibility.

overall, I'm of course disappointed with the food quality, but was not too unhappy as the person in charge did provide some form compensation.

not sure why food turned bad.. when there are a lot of good reviews.. but maybe it was because of festival timing...

The Ayam Merah Indonesian Chicken in Red Spicy Sauce and Baked/Steamed Fish in Basil Sauce are the highlights of the buffet. The Ayam Merah is not overly spicy and all our guests enjoyed it. We also liked the cereal prawn and cuttle fish ball. The setting up of the tables looks good, but there was no ladle for the dessert. The frutti-veg fried rice was average; be aware that cucumbers are one of the ingredients and will turn sour after a while. Another thing to note is that portions are mostly just nice, except for rice and veg which are plenty. Overall, the service was excellent, they came almost 30 mins earlier and were very helpful and fast when answering my queries.

The food portion was adequate and I am very delighted that all my friends enjoyed the evening food. Snowy Cream Puff was the Star of the Evening (It was GONE before I even get to try! I'm sure it does taste good). Cereal Fish and Honey Baked Winglets had good feedbacks as well.

On the other hand, I was a little upset over the Yangchow Fried Rice and Yam Rolls. The Fried Rice was rather dry and clustered. Some Yam Rolls carried a little sourish taste as well. It could be due to the condensation trapped in the boxes as the weather was rather cold (rainy) that day.

However, the delivery was way too punctual. I got a little anxious (initially) when all my friends reached earlier than expected and food had not arrived (5 to 10 mins before catering time). And just when I was about to give Laurence a call, my friends shouted "Food is here!"

Overall, I felt that Xiao Lin provides decent food quality, prompt email replies from Laurence and good service attitude from his catering crews. Will I order from Xiao Lin again? Why not!?

The food portions were more than adequate. Some dishes like the yam rice and tofu and cereal prawns (the prawns were of decent size and fresh!) were pretty good. The baked fish in basil sauce however is on the bland side, could have been more flavorful. The bur bur cha cha was quite nice, and we like it especially when it is not too sweet. Overall, good value for money!

The food tastes really nice with Cereal Prawn and Honey Baked winglet won the top 2 among the rest.
You can also expect the Ee fu noodles and New York cheese cake to be equally nice too.

The portion given was quite big and you can expect to have some left over.
Over it was a nice experience to order from Xiao Lin.
Will definitely recommend it to friends for future catering.

Food arrived promptly. Display was good. I have tried other caterers on many occasions and this time I must compliment Xiao Ling Kitchen for its clean and presentable table cloth and runners. Frankly speaking no other caterers I used previously could match this standard. Pleasant staff and they were very punctual not only on delivery but collection after the event too. Food I ordered was good, even my 7 years old grandson was quick to say that the hong kong fried noodles was good when I asked for comments. He loved the baked fish in basil sauce very much. Most of my guests love the sambal eggplant. I must also thank Laurence for his recommendation of the Indonesian red curry chicken when I was indecisive on what to choose under this item.

The setup was on time by two friendly crew.
The general feedback from guest were good.
However, there were a few glitches.
We were disappointed that the serving of seafood spaghetti, baked fish in fruitti sauce and fruit punch were not enough to satisfy all guest. (especially for some who turn up late)
there were also not enough disposable cutlery and we had to get cups, plates, forks and spoons from the mini mart.
