YLS Catering

Decided to order YLS catering from the multiple good reviews from others and also because it's cheaper with more variety. However, the food was mediocre at best, nothing to wow about. The braised soft bone and braised pork w/ bun was very salty and super oily. Cereal fish didn't have the fragrant cereal taste, on top of that it was very dry and hard. I didn't eat the prawns but my mum told me it's not very fresh, the flesh will be stucked to the shell. The worst was that for a 50 pax catering, I was only given that one small tub of fruit punch and ran out of drinks very quickly. The kailan with mushrooms and fruit punch were the only items that were cleared. Can't tell if chef was having a bad day, or my guests are picky eaters, or that the other reviewers have very low standards. This was really disappointing but price wise it's not so harsh on the pockets.

To add on, they were supposed to pick up the items at 8.30pm which is 4 hours after their set up. The uncle asked if he could come back around 9pm to 9.30cm instead, I said fine, not an issue I could wait for him. But he came around 9.40pm. Did not even give us a call to inform.

Very good spread of food items, all dishes are delicious and portion is generous. If can have more options for vegetables will be better. The delivery is prompt.

Prompt delivery. Curry chicken and kailan mushroom is good. However fried rice is bad. Bland and tasteless. Half portion left untouch. Onion ginger chicken taste ok, just a little too dry.

Overall there are some very nice dishes. But I have problem choosing fish and prawns. Fish are all fried and they are mostly covered with flour with the fish already hardened and dry. All prawns come with shells and people usually do not eat it in the party. It will be good if YLS can provide some prawn options without shell. Example prawn roll.

When we tried the first time, the food was superb! But this time it was rather disappointing. I guess there were different chefs who prepared the food. The sauces were very little. Most of the chicken were half dipped in the sauce.

Cereal fish thinly sliced & dry, barely touched. Maggie noodle on the salty side. Overall, menu is ok!!!

The delivery guy is really very good and kind, suggest where we should place the table and etc.. The food all my guest said is nice except for the fried rice, which is about hard.. Overall is satisfied..

Food portions were more than enough for 30 pax, food was decent and the setup was pretty quick. Would recommend it to friends!
