Yeh Lai Siang Catering Service

First time ordering from Yeh Lai Xiang catering and would be the last. Food and delivery was not up to satisfactory level.

Food was great for 3 days and it was downhill thereafter. Fishcakes as a dish is unacceptable. Portion for some meat is very little. Refer to photo. It was meant for 2 but can hardly feed one. Customer service can be improved. Missed delivery and no customer recovery thereafter.

Pros: Able to skip selected days during the trial period, customer service is polite and easily contactable via WhatsApp, timely delivery.

Cons: Unable to request for less oily or non-spicy options, hence may not be that suitable for households with young children. Food and soups are quite oily, and tasted same same but slightly different. Dishes tasted like those cooked by economic rice stalls, but no homecooked taste. Ginseng chicken soup was bland and did not have any ginseng actually. One of the vegetables dishes was not washed properly and still had soil inside.

Portion little . Not cheap . Sometimes 2 veggie 1 meat 2 soup . Most soup is very plain . My family been eating tingkat for years . This cfm won’t order again

The food arrived super early, at 4pm. Subsequently, when we complained about this, the food came at 6+ pm. The food was prepared at 3:30pm. The food was generally edible, with the exception of some dishes that were unpalatable and consisted of processed food, e.g. sausages. Furthermore, the fish was not fresh a lot of the times. In addition, we generally did not like the vegetables, particularly the beansprout leaves. Nonetheless, there were some highlights like the roast chicken and sweet and sour pork.

Food was sometimes bitter and not very tasty. Some food choices also not very elderly friendly - too tough to bite or with bones. Was very upset when the caterer called me up 2nd day into the catering to say that extra costs is needed because of ERP costs, this amounts to 3 dollars a day. This extra costs was not specified when I confirmed the invoice from the beginning. Staff was responsive to omit days not to send in. In any case, did not continue to sign on a full package.

Both the flavour and portion could be increased to make it worth the money (approx 12 per meal).

Food usually comes before 4pm and sometimes as early as 3pm which is way too early, the food will not be fresh for customers who prefer to have late dinners. Of course can microwave first etc but that defeats the whole purpose of "convenience" through tingkat catering

No specific mains stand out this time round. Menu rotation remains very inflexible. Keep seeing the same items within the same meal period (i.e dinner and lunch dishes quite separate, you hardly get anything you see during lunch at dinner time, despite across different months). But what bothered us more is the delivery time is way too early at 3:30pm even though we have feed-backed multiple times and even though they state their official dinner meal delivery timing starts earliest 4:30pm till 7:30pm. We only just finish lunch and we already receive our dinner, at teatime. Decided not to continue with them anymore

The food was not good, we were not looking forward to dinner for 10 days, at day 9 and day 10, they delivered until 7:00+ my kid was very hungry. will not renew with this tingkat service.

The soups is the best of the dishes. The taste is is nice and my children likes it.
The vegetables are always overcooked and don't look appetising. The meat dishes for eg chicken are big chunk with bones. The delivery time is too early, usually arrive at 3.30pm which is too early for dinner. During one of the day the delivery guy don't bother to press door bell and just hang the food at the gate until my son came back at 5pm and saw the food hanging there. However after I complained to the person in charge the delivery service seem better (not the timing). The food portion is sufficient for 4 people especially the rice is more than enough. I hope the caterer can improve on the dishes.
