An Innovative Concept Emerging From A Driven Individual - Bowl and Bowl Fried Rice
In this ever-evolving world where technology advances at an unprecedented rate, it's important that businesses and individuals have to themselves updated with technological trends to set themselves apart. This is especially relevant since the pandemic blindsided the world, changing how we interact. In these trying times, how did a small restaurant business keep itself afloat? Read on more to find out about Bowl & Bowl Fried Rice's innovations.
About Bowl and Bowl

Bowl & Bowl Fried Rice was started by a single man who already had experience in the food and beverage industry. Before this endeavour, he had owned a Mala Soup store in Singapore. There are currently 2 branches in Singapore with one located at Tai Seng and the other at Toa Payoh. As you might be able to tell from the name, Bowl & Bowl Fried Rice serves up yummy fried rice with an interesting twist.
Using Robots to Cook Your Lunch

Yes! You read that right. The team behind Bowl & Bowl might not be so human after all. Bowl & Bowl makes use of robots to cook your fried rice in under 2 minutes! Although the idea of automated machines in the food and beverage industry isn't exactly new (think sushi conveyor belts and heated vending machines), its really nice to see that Bowl & Bowl has taken it up a notch with the involvement of technology in food.
The Real Human Brains Behind This Innovation
You might have expected the owner of this establishment to be a tech geek or a nerdy scientist. However, in reality, Mr Yang is far from that! He's a very down to earth and humble man who came to Singapore in 1997 to undergo culinary training and was a head chef at a Chinese restaurant chain before opening his Mala soup store years ago. One of the biggest obstacles he faced back then was finding and retaining good staff for his restaurant. During a trip to China in 2019, he found an answer to that issue! He found an eatery using robots to cook their dishes and decided to implement that in Singapore. Using robots eliminates the need to train chefs. It also came with the added advantage of consistency and precision. The robots certainly don't make human errors and can deliver perfectly cooked food every single time.
Dealing with the Pandemic
Like everyone else, the pandemic has adversely affected Mr Yang. There were certainly many issues he had to deal with like the circuit breaker measures back last year in 2020 and the decline in sales. However, he has kept his head up and continues to work hard with his staff, both robotic and non-robotic, to deliver delicious bowls of fried rice. He has decided to engage food delivery platforms like FoodLine to help broaden his reach and customer base. Now, everyone in Singapore can enjoy a yummy bowl of fried rice cooked by robots delivered straight to their doorstep.
