With 2021 coming and going, it's time to head into the new year! Christmas is over and we all know that it's time for Chinese New Year! The covid-19 situation has probably got you feeling down, but fret not! Here is a list of what you can do for Chinese New Year in 2022!

I'm pretty sure all of you are familiar with this classic activity. Chinatown has always been decorated beautifully around the Chinese New Year period in Singapore with bright and pretty lights, colourful lanterns, and much more. We recommend you go shopping along the streets for an authentic experience and take a look at what the vendors have to offer. These busy streets encapsulate all the sights and sounds that we would expect of Chinatown during the Chinese New Year period!

If you didn't know, the meaning of the name ‘Chingay’ comes from its Hokkien dialect equivalent, which means ‘The Art of Costume and Masquerade’. You can witness this beautiful parade filled with colourful performances, fabulous costumes, and dazzling lights. The details of the event isn't announced yet but we know that it will be held sometime in February. You can watch the broadcast of the event on television too!

For 2022, you can visit the Flower Dome from 14 Jan to 20 Feb and witness their Dahlia Dreams exhibition. This year, they are featuring  three Chinese moon gates, a pair of rabbits and larger-than-life narcissus blooms, all set amidst about 2,000 showstopper dahlias and vibrant azaleas, chrysanthemums and cymbidiums. It's the perfect spot for a date!
