As Deepavali is also nearing (14 Nov), here’s another article on the food people normally eat but now it’s during Deepavali!
Mithai

Mithai are Indian sweets and desserts commonly eaten during Deepavali. It is a tradition for families to decorate a box of mithai and then exchange it among family and friends. Some popular treats include kaju katli made up of sugar, cashew nuts, pandan essence, and ghee, Kalakand burfi also known as milk cake, tasting exactly like a fudge that’s made up with condensed milk and jalebi, which is a fried treat made up of flour, yogurt, and sugar syrup, and more. There is a variety of sweets and desserts that can be found inside a Mithai box, making it always a box of surprise for people!

Aloo Tikki is a snack made out of boiled potatoes, peas and various curry spices. In fact, ‘aloo’ means potatoes and ‘tikki’ means small croquette in Hindi! The taste of aloo tikki is similar to potato pancakes as they are crispy outside and soft inside.
