How To Know If You Are Lactose Intolerant?
Yes, Lactose Intolerant is super common and it basically means your body cannot fully digest the sugar in milk which will cause several symptoms which I will be sharing below.
This condition is harmless but it can might you feel super uncomfortable. Personally, after consuming milk, I will then have diarrhea for hours which is painful and uncomfortable.

Lactose intolerance actually causes diarrhea by increasing the water volume in the colon which then increases the volume and liquid content of the stool. It occurs when undigested lactose ferments in the colon, producing short-chain fatty acids that increase the amount of water in the gut.
I remember having the need to stay in the toilet for at least 20 minutes because it was so uncomfortable...
- Stomach Pain and Bloating

Stomach pain and bloating is the most common sign of Lactose Intolerant in both Children and Adult. When the body is unable to break down lactose, it passes through the gut until it reaches the colon. The will result in an increase in acids and gases which can lead to stomach pain and cramps. The pain is usually located around the navel and in the lower half of the tummy.

There are other symptoms that you might experience, such as:
- Headache
- Loss of Focus
- Muscles and Joint Pain
- Fatigue
If you experienced such symptoms, you might want to cut down your intake of milk and instead, opt for milk products such as cheese and yoghurt in order to meet your daily calcium intake without having to face the above symptoms. The severity of symptoms differs from person to person, so it’s important to find out what amount of dairy works for you.
Till then, take care and stay safe!
