Ways to Include Guests Who Can’t Come to Your Wedding
Covid has put a halt to all weddings for the past few months and for some couples, there might be lots of replanning due to the recent implementation of a maximum of 100 guests. It’s no doubt good news for all engaged couples as now you’re able to invite more loved ones to celebrate your special day, but it can be stressful picking out the important guests.
The Asian in us would probably be stressing about how we’re going to invite our mother’s mother’s goddaughter or our cousin’s father’s mother-in-law because no matter how we’re related, everyone’s family right? How about your loved ones overseas who can’t come due to covid travel restrictions? No worries because this week I have some ways for you to include your guests who can’t come to your wedding and let them know you’re still thinking of them!
Live stream your wedding

It’s a pretty common thing to live stream your wedding now so if you haven’t jumped on the bandwagon, you definitely need to! When you live stream, you're not only able to include friends and family locally but also loved ones from overseas.
For intimate ceremonies like tea ceremonies, invite your close friends and relatives on zoom! Tea ceremonies are usually reserved for family members, but if you’ve always wanted more people who are close to your heart to participate, it’s a perfect excuse for a tea ceremony zoom sesh!
For bigger ceremonies like wedding dinners or church weddings, try streaming live on Facebook! What I love about Facebook is that you’re able to set an event beforehand, informing your online guests about the date and time so all they have to do is to turn on a reminder to make sure they’ll never miss it.
Record your wedding

For guests who are on different timezones or those who simply can’t make it online/physically, record your live stream and send it to them so they won’t feel left out!
Create a wedding hashtag

Wedding hashtags are perfect for guests who are there physically to record your wedding from their perspective, and also a good way for guests who can’t make it to be updated in real-time. It’s also an amazing way for you to look back and get a feel of your own wedding from the perspective of your guests!
Send them a favor

Pay elderly relatives or close friends a visit

There’s no better way to let your guests know you wished they could be there by personally dropping by and paying them a visit. Plus, you might get bonus points for visiting your elderly relatives/family friend! 😊
It’s perfectly fine to not be able to invite everyone to your wedding, and you shouldn’t feel guilty about it. Instead, let your friends and family know that you would still like them to be part of your special day even if they can’t be there physically!
