Pines Food Delight

The food arrived on time, and the delivery person was friendly, but the taste of the food was really disappointing for all of us! Especially the mee siam and grilled apricot chicken, taste really not nice.

Food was setup and served on time.
Chiang Mai Thai Fried Brown Rice was chunky and not evenly cooked. Guest found a piece of plastic the size of a tablespoon in the rice.
Irish Lamb Stew with Vegetables was extremely tough, will not recommend if you are serving to old folks and kids.
Baked Chicken rubbed with Mediterranean spices was tender and juicy.
Other food items ordered were all healthy and delicious.
Food teardown team did not adhere to the indicated teardown time and came early, but patiently waited when we told them to.
Food portion was good and sufficient for the number of pax stated.

Service was horrible, delivery came an hour late and collection came 2 hours late. There was no chance to contact any staff - Foodline and Pines Food. My contact number was listed in the sales order and staff did not contact me at all when they were late and couldn't locate the place.

Food was mediocre and the nonya kueh was inedible. Seems like the coconut milk in the kueh had turned bad.

Food quantity for dishes (eg fish, kueh) insufficient for 100+ pax compared with some other caterers. Vietnamese sugar cane prawn was not prawn but a very salty fishball. Setup looked bare. They only collected the setup at 7pm when the original communicated time was 2.30-3pm, making our people wait.

The food is cold. if warm will taste nicer.
Chilled Aloe Vera with Peach Slices &Honey Lemon is sour.

The Breaded fish with tartar sauce was pathetic. Name totally misleading as well. 70% was untouched. The Pandan Bubor Cha Cha was one of the worst ones I have tried

One of the worst nightmare with caterer is they arrived late, and this is what happened exactly at our CNY lunch. The delivery men arrived late for the event and did not even bother to apologize. On top of that, the tangerine sparking juice was being changed to fruit punch (although the label still shows tangerine sparking juice). Won't consider using this unreliable caterer again.

Terrible caterer and horrible experience. Buffet was supposed to be set up and ready to consume by 6.30 pm but was delivered late and only ready around 7.30 pm. As a host it was a real embrassment to keep all my guests hungry especially children.

But that's not the worst. One of the dish - mee siam, wasn't delivered at all and the delivery guy told me "their boss" was on the way delivering it and will reach in 5 mins. In the end the mee siam only reached near 9 pm when all my guests were about to leave. And it wasn't "the boss" who delivered it but the same delivery guy who had to went back to pick it up (which causes further delay). Unsurprisingly this dish was almost untouched and most of it ended up in the trash bag.

For all these service lapses they were unapologetic and have the audacity to collect full payment from me.

Buffet timing is 5.30pm and it came at 6. This is reasonable but someone should have at least contacted me to inform. No one is reachable at the office or mobile line. Bad service. Food is cold. Portion is not enough.I ended up having to buy more food from the coffeeshop. No forks or spoons are provided. One guest have a serious tummy ache during the party, unsure whether it is caused by the food or not though.

Extremely disappointed and unlikely to order again.

1) When first ordered thru Foodline- an email will be sent to us to say it will be confirmed only upon caterer contacting us. I have ordered from other caterers before and this was always the case. For theirs, i waited and no one called till i had to call to check on my order. Already bad first impression.

2) No proper checking before sending me confirmation email. Mine was clearly self collection and then they still charged me delivery fee. Second bad impression.

3) I asked for microwavable container as i heard they only give in aluminium foil. She said would provide me one or two just in case i need to reheat food. On that day, no
Microwavable plastic container provided.

4) Imagine u choose self collection and reached there promptly and they tell u sorry one item - Swiss Roll did not arrive yet as it was from elseswhere. They shld have managed and ensured it wld arrive isnt it? Then in the end say will deliver to our house by 6.30pm. My party was 6pm and they only brought the swiss roll just before 7pm. Not professional to me. Worse was swiss roll was too dry and cut thickly.

5) Ordered for 15 pax and the portions of rice and fish all too small. Fish was too salty and exactly 15pc. So much so i had to quickly cook some white rice for buffer.

6) All the food was cold and in terms of colour wise (chix and fish esp was cooked a while ago that the sauce look like it dried up. Colours hence dun look appetizing when we plated the dishes
