Overall, we were satisfied with the service and food served by Straits Chinese Nonya Catering.

We would like give our compliment to Pei Xuan and Jack Khow for their outstanding service. Pei Xuan has been responding to our email promptly. On the ... More day before our gathering, she also sent a SMS to me to inform we can still contact her hand phone or office number if we require any assistance (our event fell on public holiday). Jack Khow listened patiently to our request to set up the buffet spread on our dining table and he did it to our satisfaction. As the ceiling fan was on top of the buffet spread, Jack took the initiative to build ‘wind barrier’ below the food warmer using brochures. This prevented the candle fire from burning out and guests could still enjoy warm food with ceiling fan on.

This was the first time we catered for Nonya food. The food spread was generally nice. The Hee Peow Soup was well flavoured with many ingredients and our relatives mistaken we boiled it ourselves. The Chap Chye, Babi Pong Tay and Chendol were very tasty too.

Here are some areas for improvement:
1) The Ayam Buah Keluak lacked the authentic Buah Keluah taste, otherwise it would be a great nonya dish.
2) Skirting cloth could use Velcro to fasten instead of thumbtack.
3) Have a bigger batik cloth & brighter colour batik design. The dark green and brown one was quite small and looked a bit awkward with white cloth so we asked Jack to remove it.
