Worth the price for quality and taste

Reviewed on 24th Feb 2025 Verified Purchase

Repeat order from me. Food quality is generally good. Although pricier than other caterers, I find that it is more worth it to pay more for quality food. Portion is also good and can be filling for 2 small eaters.

Pricey but good quality and quantity of food

Reviewed on 24th Feb 2025 Verified Purchase

Overall the quality of the food was good. Although it is pricey, but the portions are big. My family members are not big eaters and quite elderly so my parents could share the 1 portion that I bought for my convalescing parent. The red date drink ... More was nice and hot but a bit too diluted and sweet. Vegetables are fresh and not overcooked. Customer service is very good. They called to check for the purpose of the meals (post-delivery or post-operation) and also changed the red date soup to sugarfree black sesame drink after my mum got tired of the soup after 1 week. Thank you!

Paid more to try this premium tingkat. Food portions are slightly more than the average tingkat. Tastes wholesome and home cooked. Not oily and not too salty, tastes quite healthy. Giving 4 starts as I still consider it quite pricey compared to the ... More premium coffee shop variety rice stalls and no rice provided. The sliced beef was very chewy and we couldn’t eat most of it. Prawns very juicy and perfectly cooked - not overcooked or mushy - tastes very fresh.

Value for money - tastes like home cooked food.

Reviewed on 31st Jul 2024 Verified Purchase

Good quality food. A little more pricy than other caterers but I think it is worth it as the food tastes like it’s home cooked and the variety is good. Each day as a theme eg Chinese, Korean, western. Assam fish is simply delicious! Soups are ... More authentic and you can tell the taste is from the ingredients cooking for long duration and not due to MSG or salt. Soups are delicious and wholesome. Also got big chunks of ingredients in the soup like meat, carrot or radish. Sometimes there are little dessert surprises. I love the agar agar with water chestnut! However there were some misses - egg tofu with satay sauce was just weird. Kimchi was too much and very sour. Should be served as side dish and not main course. Ordered a few times from Homely Delights. They finally took in my feedback and delivered around 5:30-6pm instead of 3:30pm! That’s more considerate - thanks!

Good quality food

Western set is very good and comes with pasta and cream soup and fries. The kids love the Western set. The Chinese themed food is also nice - veges are not too salty and not oily and also well cooked but not overcooked. Fish dishes were nice except ... More the Saba fish which tasted bitter. Kimchi was too much - this should be a side dish and not a main. We threw away most of it. Desserts are always a nice surprise - love the sea coconut and jelly with cocktail fruits. Delivery is way too early at 3:30pm when we only eat at 7-7:30pm.

Quality food that is worth it

Reviewed on 6th Jul 2024 Verified Purchase

Good quality food everyday! Daily menu has a theme and we loved the chicken rice set and pasta - western chicken chop set. There’s also good variety for the carbohydrate (besides white rice, sometimes there is pasta or fried rice or yellow rice ... More with sauce) no doubt the price is higher than the standard tingkat but I would rather pay a bit more for quality and healthy food. Food is not oily and less salty - more healthy! We ordered for 4 adults. Portion is acceptable for small eaters but my son had to eat double portions. Fried chicken cutlet portion was big though. Only complaint is sometimes the delivery time is way too early - came at 3pm so by the time I eat at 7pm it has been 4 hours already. Deliveryman and service staff who update me on the tingkat deposit are all very friendly.

CNY dishes were hit and miss.

Reviewed on 12th Feb 2024 Verified Purchase

Generally food tasted nice, especially the eefu noodles, braised duck and brocolli with mushrooms. Fishmaw soup with cabbage and fishballs was way too salty although the ingredients inside were nice. Sweet sour fish was soggy and there’s too much ... More flour coating. Ching Tng dessert has nice ingredients but was way too sweet. Containers came with heat pack but these should not be placed in the bottom container as we had to dirty our hands lifting up the first layer of food to remove the heat pack and open it. Food covers were not provided. Each container was only covered with shrink wrap so the food was exposed while we were waiting for all the guests to arrive. Generally ok but I wouldn’t order again.

Food portions good but taste of some dishes disappointing

Reviewed on 9th Feb 2024 Verified Purchase

Brocolli with scallop was good - scallop big and juicy and cooked just right. Prawns were the hot favourite - the kung bao sauce was delicious. Changed udon to fried rice and rice was ok. Fish and chicken portions were good - just nice for 5-6 pax. ... More However the taste was so bland and in fact the chicken had no taste at all and we had to pour the prawn sauce over the chicken. Chicken dish was the worst - neither crispy nor fragrant. It was soggy and totally tasteless. Soup was more like starchy water with some minced black fungus and bits of crab stick. We threw half away. Mango pudding was good. No cutlery was given. Service personnel called earlier to inform that the food was on the way so that was helpful. Courier was polite too and food arrived in time at 6pm despite the heavy rain.

Tasty, Good Quality & Healthy Food that is Value for money

Reviewed on 8th Feb 2024 Verified Purchase

Ordered full set up buffet on 7 Feb with 7 dishes and 1 drink for 30 pax. Food quality is excellent and good portions generous and more than sufficient for second helpings by the guests. The food is not only healthy but also tasty. Mushroom salad, ... More basil brown rice, cod fish tofu and vegetable medley were our favourites. Baked chicken and dory fish were also nice. Blue pea lavender tea was quite special. The layout was nice and the staff was very professional and helpful. Set up was 1 hour earlier and food kept adequately warm. Chinese new year vase of flowers were a nice touch.will order again next time!

Delicious & moist cupcakes with real white chocolate!

Reviewed on 15th Jan 2024 Verified Purchase

My boy loved the Minecraft toppers! So cute and they managed to squeeze his birthday greeting onto the cupcake! Surprised that the topper is made of real white chocolate and it tastes great! (Not like some fake-tasting toppers). Cupcake was moist ... More and tasty, not too sweet! Cream was quite dense though. Service via WA was prompt and replies answered quickly. Thanks for the good service and delicious cupcakes!
