Covid 19: Easing of restrictions in phases after Circuit Breaker ends on 1 June
Such a bummer, right? Here we all are excitedly waiting for 1 June to be here and the Circuit Breaker to be over then the news on the different phases after Circuit Breaker hits us.
To be honest, we all felt that tinge of disappointment too when that was announced. However, with that said, we also understand that it is important that measures are not removed entirely and quickly as it might bring about new clusters if we're not careful.
We remain hopeful that things will improve and can only get better from here if all of us continue to exercise caution and be socially responsible.
If you haven't already hear about the different phases to be rolled out after 1 June then read on for more information on phase 1.
Phase 1:
- 🎒 Schools will resume - from 2 June
- Graduating cohorts of Primary and Secondary schools will return to school.
- All other cohorts to alternate returning to school on a weekly basis. (Home-Based Learning will be conducted on other weeks)
- Up to 50% of students from JCs and Millenia Institute will return to school, with priority for JC 2 and Pre-U 3 students.
- K1 and K2 students from MOE Kindergartens will return to schools.
- Special Education Schools to start by 8 June.
- IHLs students to return primarily for practical/lab sessions.
- 💼 Some businesses to reopen with Safe Management Measures in place. Some examples of businesses that can reopen after 1 June:
- Manufacturing and Production Facilities:
- Eg. F&B Manufacturing, Consumer Electronics Manufacturing, Semiconductors etc.
- Services:
- Eg. Finance & Insurance, Health & Social Services, Logistics/Storage etc.
- Manufacturing and Production Facilities:
- For a list of permitted services that can reopen from 2 June, refer to HERE.
- 🏡 Households can have 2 visitors a day
- Visitors must be children and/or grandchildren from the same household.
- Dropping of children at parents' and grandparents' homes for childcare will also be allowed. (Same limit of 2 visitors of the same household will apply.)
- 👨❤️👩 Marriage solemnisations can take place in-person
- Marriage solemnisations can take place with up to 10 people attending.
- 🛐 Places of Worship to reopen for private worship only.
- Up to 5 members of the same household may pray together at any one time.
As usual, we would like to remind all to be socially responsible and practise safe distancing when we're out of our house for essential trips. You are also reminded to wear a mask whenever you're out. Together, we can overcome and have our lives return to how it was before Covid-19. #SGUNITED
