To put it in perspective, the cake was alot nicer the next day after spending more time defrosting in the refrigerator. So it seems the cake was done made fresh on the day or maybe frozen durian was used. But the most important time of consumption is at the event, and so although the cake was nice the next day, many of the guest did not really enjoy the cake at the event because it was still too icy.
