When Covid-19 restrictions kicked, and dine-out was no longer an option. Most people are looking to home-cooked food but to do so comes with lots of effort and trials to make everyday meals to taste good.
Hewtop has a variety of dishes from their TingKat menu.
They reminded us of the type of family cooked dishes that are simple yet have great taste.
Dishes such as Curry Chicken and Celery Tau Kee, are good examples. Once a while, we like to have some spices in our food, and Hewtop did just that. The week menu has been carefully thought to provide us with different “aspects” of taste along with their presentations.
I personally enjoy the dishes and look forward to more variety in weeks to come.

Food was better than expected, will continue ordering. However, delivery time was too early in the day

Food is nice and to my family's liking. Not too salty so it's healthier for daily consumption. Delivery is on time.

Food and service is good, but Very disappointed ‘Soup’ is very diluted & tasteless, Soup need to improve.

Good value for money. Food was good on the first two days and ok for the next three days. Delivery was on time.

Dishes were quite saltish & oily. Initially when we tried out the package for a trial period of 5 days, the food was not so saltish & oily. That was why we continued to order the 20 day dinner package. Then we realised the food quality was not the same as per the trial period. Surprisingly, on the last day of service of the 20 day package, the food quality was very much improved - same as the trial package of 5 days.

We suspect the cook for trial period (food provided in plastic containers) and the last day of the 20 day package (food served in plastic containers) was a different person from the one on 20 day package (food served in metal containers).

We hope the dishes can be less saltish & oily as these affect one's health.

This is the fifth time we have ordered from Hewtop. Found that food portion become lesser then previous but food quality is good. No more starchy sauce and bitter egg now.

We always order from Hewtop as their dishes are yummy and price is the most reasonable amongst all. I feel that most of the tingkat providers are serving the same dishes as all use central kitchen and thus does not make sense to pay more for same dish.

Food delivery timing is generally consistent.
Caterer takes care to minimise use of oil and salt, yet the food is sufficiently tasty.
Food is cooked just right - not over- or under-cooked.
Variety of food is usually good.
Quantities are generally sufficient and even generous; the only exception is that the vegetables tend to be smaller portions - suggest to caterer to pack the vegetable containers to a fuller extent bcos vegetables take up a lot of "air space".
