The menu (on paper) really did attract us at the beginning. It started out ok too. Delivery uncle was friendly. Food was less oil, less salt (sometimes on the bland side), not too sweet, very healthy for the elderly. More importantly, it had a home ... Morecooked feel to it (unlike other caterers we have tried before where the food tasted mass-cooked). There were also some 'nostalgic dishes' like Li Li Xiang which the older generation can relate to. But towards the middle of our service, we notice the standard started dropping a little. There were some last minute menu swops, and a lot of potato dishes. Perhaps we were really looking forward to the food & formed certain expectations based on the showcased menu for the month. So when the food is received and did not turn out the way we envisioned, we got slightly disappointed. That said, we understand there may be a really tight profit margin they are operating on, plus we might have tried them at a not so ideal period - during the festive month where the cost of ingredients may be higher, or the number of cancellations are higher, or the month by month demand for tingkat service versus buffet/catering is lower, or they have recently launched a marketing campaign that they need to recoup the cost (we received their flyer in our mailbox). All in all, we may still be inclined to try them again. Perhaps on a better month this time, and without utilizing any Foodline/ credit card discount promo code.
