"Disappointing first experience and unlikely to order again."

Hate to give negative review but here is my honest opinion.

I ordered Four Seasons Catering for 15 pax, but the portions were generous enough to feed about 20-24 people (we did have some home-cooked dishes as well). Portion-wise, I have no ... More complaints.

Unfortunately, the food quality was very disappointing, especially given that most reviews I read about Four Seasons were not bad, which raised my expectations.

Dishes ordered & feedback:

Golden Mountain Fried Rice (Eggs, Golden Fish, Corn, Pumpkin Floss)
Average at best. Nothing memorable, and the combination of ingredients tasted a little odd.

Ayam Rendang (Rendang Chicken)
The best dish of the entire spread. Very flavourful and the chicken was tender. This was the only item that stood out positively.

Battered Fish Fillet with Chile Con Queso Dip
The fish was very soggy, which made it unappetising.

Curry Vegetable (Vegan)
Worst dish of the lot. It tasted like coconut milk was missing from the curry, making it flat and watery. The vegetables were severely overcooked—mushy and almost mashed. My aunt even commented that it seemed like the vegetables had been deep-fried before the gravy was added, which might explain the texture.

Breaded Otah
Honestly, I have never tasted otah this bad before.

Seafood Croquette
Very disappointing finger food. I genuinely couldn’t tell what I was eating. My guests commented that as well.

Wok-Tossed Prawn in Creamy Salted Egg Yolk Sauce with Curry Leaves
Another confusing dish. The salted egg yolk sauce was packed separately, which I understand, but it was not labelled. We only realised it at the end of the party, so the prawns were eaten without the sauce. Sauce was good.
However, to be honest, even if the prawns were eaten with the sauce, the batter itself was one of the worst I’ve tried. The batter is the soul of many finger food dishes, and I believe this was the main reason why all the finger food items did not turn out well.

Chocolate Éclair
Can't go wrong since I am pretty sure it is mass produced. Well received and finished.

Overall, only the chicken rendang was good. The rest of the dishes ranged from average to extremely disappointing. I can’t help but wonder if the quality dropped because we did not order X'mas menu during the Christmas period, but regardless, the food did not meet expectations.

This experience was a letdown, and I’m unlikely to order again.
