All 30 of us at this annual CNY 2025 Family Gathering voted the not so interesting dish as the most tasty. It's not greasy and contents comprising small shrimps/prawns, vegetable strips, enoki mushroom etc makes the noodles very tasty & palatable. ... More Many of us had second helpings to it.

The most disappointing dish was the Fa Cai Yusheng with Smoked Salmon. for 30 headcounts, only one small plate was provided. At best, each took a morsal approx. 1-2 soupspoon "exi-exi". Recalled 3 plates of Fa Cai Yusheng with provided for 30 headcounts.

The most look forward dessert, Yam Paste with Gingko Nuts turned out to be disastrous. Expected to see Yam Paste as served in typical restaurants, the dessert turned out to be yam-coconut soup with a few tiny bits of yam cubes and gingko nuts. To top this dessert off, the yam-coconut soup was spoilt. Non of us dared to consume it for fear of food poisoning.

Whether I'll order from this caterer again - answer is quite likely as customer service is still prompt, friendly & good, as is for past years when buffet orders are placed with them.... except won't opt for this yam paste with gingko nuts dish, going forward.

Yu Sheng Platter was the best. Surprised that the caterer was generous & provided medium sized braised braised abalone. Portion of abalone was also reasonable. Generally. all the dishes were of acceptable quality & quantity. Only the chilled ... More mango sago with pomelo although nice was too sweet & many of us had to dilute it with plain water to reduce its sweetness.

1. Quality of food is good other than Nonya Chap Chye which was very ordinary (like mixed rice dish from local hawker centre).
2. Food display good.
3. Calamansi Juice was perfect . Neither too sweet nor sour. Very thirst quenching & ... More refreshing.
4. Food quantity a bit little. Other than Oriental Rice & Veg Bee Hoon which was ample to go around, No regrets ordering 32 headcounts for 28 heads + supplemented by our own *big dish of roast pork , char siew & whole roast duck + * Otah + *2 big trays of fruits and some *Nonya Kueh. Otherwise, would be rather embarrassing with so little food for the guests.
( * all good finished up ).
Overall, recommend order from this caterer as cooking is good; except you need to need to order for more heads than actual number of guests.

Every dish was delicious & everyone in the family enjoyed the food. Hit favourites were Braised EeFu Noodles as of Crispy Chicken. Overall, thumbs up for the scrumptious reunion dinner to caterer.

Curry FishHead was good. The curry was delicious. Finished up all the curry using our bread when the order of 4 pax rice for our family of four was not enough to go around.

The other dishes were passable.

The cereal prawn would taste ... More better if the prawn meat was not so tough and not so soggy; unlike the cereal chicken cubes which were much more crunchy & crispy.

Caterer was punctual & food arrived warm.

Generally, the food is good. Caterer was very polite & punctual in arrival for set up. Overall, the guest is satisfied with the food.

1. With the exception of Watermelon Sago, the other dishes were just edible to fill stomach. Pretty ordinary. No wow factor in terms of taste. Majority of my relatives either had no comment or said it’s so so only.
But judging from the fact that ... More we had to throw 1.5 tubs of Watermelon Sago (caterer provided 2 tubs), spoke for itself that most of the guests didn’t bother to sample it.
2. No table plastic was provided. Plastic cutlery, paper tissue styrofoam plates provided was insufficient, Had to rush back home & ran back to function room to get our own extras.
3. Some portions of White radish strips in Prosperity Bao Pian Yu Sheng tasted a bit sour.... we discarded the uneaten balance. Luckily we had prepared amply our own separate Abalone Yu Sheng. Hmmm, by the way, no disposable chopsticks provided for this complimentary dish. Maybe it’s free, so we were not provided disposable chopsticks. LOL.
4. Food portion rather small; like meant for 15 pax (& not 25 pax which I ordered). Had we not prepared a huge pot of our own dishes (ginger vinegar pig trotter, some steam yam cake & “Lu Tan” in dark sauce) with lots of cut fruits to supplement, the portion of cateted food would not be enough to go around.
5. Overall, it’s average food quality. small serving portions & insufficient disposable cutlery & serviette provided.
Recommendation: Won’t order again from this caterer.

Most of the dishes tasted bad & I was quite embarassed was my guests were close relatives & all passed the same bad comment on the food quality.

1. SinChew Bee Hoon was rubbery.
2. Signature Curry Chicken tasted good but the gravy was watery & ... More dilute
3. BBQ Pork - the worst dish. Pork has a strong pork odour kind of tasted funny.
4. Orange colouring of Sweet & Sour Fish was too much & looks artificial. Didn’t taste good. Very starchy
5. Cereal Prawn was the only edible dish
6. Broccoli with mixed mushroom - could taste the rawness of broccoli as it was lightly cooked
7. Golden Sotong ballls - pretty hard & tastless
8. Mini Choco Eclairs - was the best dish. Just nice. Not too sweet.
9. FIC -Yakitori. The chicken was a bit hard.
Overall, this is one of the 2 very bad catering experience in the ladt decade.
The saving grace of this Caterer are:
- food portion is sizesble;
- food is hot &
- delivery was on time.
However, I’ll not want to order from this caterer again as my family & everyone of our relatives did not like the taste of the cooking.

Pretty satisfied with all the hot food although the best was Salad Prawn as the prawns were fresh. If not for the extreme SWEETNESS which all of us had the same opinion - the yam paste would be perfect ie thick consistency, smooth, not oily and ... More lightly real yam fragrance. The slightly salty coconut milk covered for some of the sweetness. However, being health conscious people, most of the coconut milk was left untouched. The yam paste can be improved by decreasing the generous sugar ingredient to the recipe (bearing in mind most of us are health conscious and do not want to consume the coconut milk ... luckily coconut milk was not pre-added to recipe). Food portion was generous for my 30 head count and my fear of inadequate food to go (which I experienced in a few other caterers) around was unfounded. Overall, I'm satisfied with the food quality, quantity, service provided by caterer. Very likely will use Le Xin Catering again at the next function which I rate as 4.5/5 stars!
